Year 3 trip to Duxford Imperial War Museum

Year 3 enjoyed an amazing day at Duxford!

Fun was had by all and we managed to see and do so many wonderful things. From conversations with war veterans, seeing the greatest display of Daks aircraft since WW11, playing noughts and crosses against a man in a water tank and being able to try out a range of war machinery.

Below are some pictures of our day.

Summer 1 Topic Homework Pictures

Last half term, Year 3 worked incredibly hard on their topic homework; ranging from facts about Anne Frank, posters showing what they would take if they were evacuated, drawings/collage of a World War 11 scene to incredible air raid shelter models.

Here are pictures of some of the fantastic homework Year 3 produced.

Big Schools' Birdwatch

Last week Year 3 got involved with the Big Schools' Birdwatch. Before we took part in the Birdwatch, we made some recycled bird feeders out of used plastic bottles to try and attract the birds and be Eco-friendly at the same time!

We used lolly sticks for the perches and then had to cut out feeding holes 4cm above the perch. We created funnels to help us pour the bird seed into the bottles accurately. Lastly we made two holes at the top of the bottle and threaded the string through so we could hang them up.

We then had lots of fun putting them around our school grounds and watching the birds enjoy the seeds.

P.E

In P.E this half term the children will be taking part in a range of athletics activities, such as sprinting, throwing, long-distance running, jumping and relay. Children will develop their running technique, throwing accuracy and distance, jumping styles and relay baton change overs.

Our P.E sessions are on a Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon, please could you ensure that your child has their P.E kit in school on these days. If your child has long hair, this needs to be tied back and jewellery removed.
