We are exceptionally proud of the achievements of our pupils at Norton CEVC Primary School. From the Early Years through to the end of Key Stage 2, our children demonstrate enthusiasm, resilience and a determination to succeed.

2026 Performance Data

We are pleased to celebrate the successes of our pupils, whose hard work, perseverance and enthusiasm for learning continue to shine. In 2026, 71.4% of our Reception children achieved a Good Level of Development, while 86.2% of Year 1 pupils met the expected standard in phonics, both reflecting the strong start children receive at Norton.

By the end of Key Stage 2, 97% of pupils achieved the expected standard in Reading, 87% in Writing and Mathematics, and 77% achieved the combined Reading, Writing and Mathematics measure, significantly above national outcomes. These achievements are the result of pupils embracing our vision to learn, believe and achieve, supported by dedicated staff, governors and families who work together to help every child flourish. As a school, we are grateful for these outcomes and remain ambitious for all our children as we continue our journey of improvement and growth.

Information includes

  • GLD (Good Level of Development) – this is the percentage of Reception children achieving a good level of development at the end of Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Year 1 Phonics – this is the percentage of children passing the year 1 phonics test
  • Key Stage 1 SATS – this is the achievement of year 2 children in reading, writing and maths. Key Stage 1 assessments became optional in 2024. As a school, we continue to administer assessments at the end of Key Stage 2 to support transition and to monitor progress and attainment.
  • Key Stage 2 SATS – this is the progress and attainment of year 6 children in reading, writing and maths at the end of Key Stage 2.

Norton CEVC Primary School is recognised as a nurturing and high-achieving school, where pupils thrive both academically and personally. The most recent Ofsted inspection highlights strong teaching and leadership, with behaviour, personal development and early years provision judged as outstanding. Pupils are engaged, confident learners who demonstrate excellent attitudes to their education. The SIAMS report reflects the school’s strong Christian vision, which underpins a caring, inclusive community where every child is valued and supported to flourish. Together, these reports recognise the school’s commitment to high standards, positive relationships and a well-rounded education.
