  • Year 6 PGL

    24 of the Year 6 children enjoyed a three day residential at Bawdsey PGL. The children took part in a variety of risk-taking, team building, fun activities. All the children challenged themselves to try something new and worked as a team to complete activities. 

     

     

  • We have been awarded the Primary Science Quality Mark

    Over the last year, we have been working towards the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM), which is an award scheme to develop and celebrate the quality of science teaching and learning in primary schools. We knew that science was already a strong subject at Norton, so decided to apply for the Gilt award. Thanks to all the efforts of pupils, parents, teaching staff and governors, we received confirmation earlier this term that we had been successful. Well done to us!

  • Lower Key Stage 2 Harvest Festival

    This morning, Comet and Rocket class went to Norton to Baptist church to celebrate Harvest Festival. The children delivered their lines beautifully and sang their hearts out!

    We learned more about the Rural Coffee Caravan, the charity that the Y6 worship team chose to support this year. 

  • Year 6 team building event at Thurston Community College

    Year 6 visited Thurston Community College to take part in a team building event with other local primary schools; it was a great event which encouraged the children to speak to someone from a different school and work as a team to complete tasks. 

  • Sealife Centre

    On Tuesday 27 June, Year 3 went to the Sea Life Centre in Great Yarmouth as part of their ‘Commotion in the Ocean’ topic. The full-day visit included a VIP tour of the centre and time to explore the exhibits in groups. The children were also able to enjoy their lunch time on the beach.

  • Lower Key Stage 2 Multi-sports festival

    Lower Key Stage 2 attended a Multi-sports Festival at Thurston Community College, run by the Year 8 sports leaders. They played a variety of games, trying to gain as many points as possible for their team, including archery, basketball, hurdles and disc golf. Our Year 4s also manages to come first place with the most amount of points, picking up some gold medals!

  • Year 1 Felixstowe Trip

    On Wednesday Year 1 had a great day in Felixstowe. We went for a walk near Landguard Fort to view Felixstowe Port. We were able to identify some human and physical features. We then went to the beach in Felixstowe where we enjoyed some time on the beach and were able to identify some more human and physical features. After lunch we went to the pier and enjoyed an ice cream. 

  • Lackfield Lakes

    On Tuesday 27 June Star Class went on their first school trip to Lackford Lakes. The trip was planned as part of their Minibeast Topic and Lackford Lakes was the perfect place to explore for minibeasts under stones, on leaves and under wood. The children had a wonderful day doing many exciting activities.

  • Crucial Crew

    Our Year 6 pupils had a great afternoon at the Crucial Crew, taking part in a range of workshops designed to help us be safe in a range of scenarios and maintain a healthy, positive and engaged approach to everything from environmental issues to our mental health. For many, the highlight was being rescued from a ‘burning’ building by the fire service!
    We were, as always, complimented by staff on our great behaviour and participation…

  • Thorpe Woodlands

    On Friday 23 June, Meteor Class had an amazing day at Thorpe Woodlands. The children all had the opportunity to be Bold Adverturers as they were challenged to try new sporitng activities, go on the high ropes and work together as a team. All of the children showed real courage and perseverance and pushed themselves to achieve things they never thought they would!
