Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant

 

Salary:  £19,264 - £20,043 pro rata

Job term:  Part Time, term time only

Appointment:  Permanent

Closing Date:  Monday 27 June 2022 12 noon

Interview Date:  Friday 1 July 2022

Place of work: Norton CEVC Primary School, Norton, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.  IP31 3LZ

 

28 hours per week, plus 2.5 hours per week lunchtime supervision at £9.60 per hour. 38 weeks per year

 

Required from 1 September 2022.

 

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and supportive team working in Year 5.  You must be enthusiastic, nurturing and innovative.

 

You will be required to:

  • work with children, individually or in small groups
  • work closely with the class teacher to maintain high standards of attainment and behaviour
  • demonstrate a secure understanding of the requirements of the National Curriculum
  • provide observations and evidence for assessments
  • liaise with teaching staff to plan and deliver classroom support
  • promote and encourage children’s wellbeing and self esteem
  • deliver interventions as appropriate to support the needs of the children in the cohort.

 

The ideal person for this role will:

  • have experience of working with children in a primary school setting
  • be flexible and can use their own initiative 
  • work independently and as part of a team
  • be willing to undertake a range of duties
  • be resilient, hardworking and self-motivated
  • adapt to suit the needs of individual learners
  • have the ability to manage change well, and support pupils in a variety of situations
  • have high expectations of children’s behaviour and achievements
  • have excellent English and maths skills
  • possess initiative and the ability to communicate well with both teaching staff and pupils.
