World Book Day

On 5 March we celebrated World Day. It was a fantastic day in school as all lessons were linked to books and the importance of reading for knowledge and pleasure. The children were able to share with others the books they enjoy reading and the opportunity to write and illustrate their own books.

In EYFS and Key Stage 1, the children spent the morning in mixed age groups visiting each teacher with a different book and activity, so much fun was enjoyed by all.

In assembly, the school was vibrant with colour as the children and staff displayed their costumes and props. Children were asked to write a book review of a recent book they had read, in return they were given a raffle ticket which was placed in a draw for each class. The owner of the winning raffle ticket received a £5 book token.
