Year 5 and 6 children visited Norwich Theatre Royal to watch 'The boy at the back of the class'. After reading the novel as a class read it was a fantastic experience to see a book brought to life on stage. The children were all very enthused with the acting and performance of the novel and enjoyed the atmosphere of being in a theatre.
Year 1 had a fantastic trip to the Polar Museum in Cambridge. This was linked to their Geography topic on the Arctic. The children were fascinated by all the amazing artefacts on show and enjoyed learning about the different clothes, sleeping bags, food and even instruments that have been taken on polar expeditions. We were also honoured to be allowed into one of the University of Cambridge lecture theatres to find out more about the Arctic and see a real Polar Bear skin!
Whilst in Cambridge we also enjoyed some time in the beautiful Botanic Gardens, viewing the interesting plants and looking for signs of Spring as part of our science work.
Year 6 enjoyed a visit to West Stow Anglo-Saxon village; linked to our history learning on the power struggle between the Anglo-Saxon's and Vikings this visit brought an understanding of how Anglo-Saxon life would have been before the Viking invasion.
